Description
This is a design for the Penguin Awards 2010 for the book Perfume. With this brief I wanted to show the human side of the murdering protagonist. When looking at existing covers I saw they focussed on the murders or the perfume more so than the main character.
For my cover I focussed on the items Grenouille stole the scent from as this gives the character more depth, the list shows his journey of discovery and the twists and turns he took.
The paper has hair embedded into it as a subtle reference to the hair theme of the book. I was Highly Commended with this entry.
